It was about four in the afternoon.\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrew told his brother Simon (whom Jesus called Cephas, the first Pope), and John told his brother James, sons of Zebedee and Salome. They were fishermen from Galilee. The Gospels mention Saint John, for example, when he asked Jesus in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/benedict-xvi\/es\/audiences\/2006\/documents\/hf_ben-xvi_aud_20060705.html\">Last Supper<\/a> who was going to betray him, and for remaining at Calvary next to the Lord on the Cross, with Mary Magdalene, Mary of Cleophas and other women, when everyone else fled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved\u201d (writes the evangelist), he said to his mother from the cross, \u2018Woman, here is your son.\u2019 Then he said to the disciple, \u2018Here is your mother\u2019 (Jn. 19:25-27). There Mary\u2019s motherhood was established., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/john-paul-ii\/es\/encyclicals\/documents\/hf_jp-ii_enc_25031987_redemptoris-mater.html\">points out<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/francesco\/es\/cotidie\/2018\/documents\/papa-francesco-cotidie_20180521_iglesia-mujer-madre.html\">Church<\/a>. In four lines, the Gospel of John cites the word &quot;mother&quot; five times.
